Grid song top 40 - FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions and general information about the Top 40 system
Equipment needed
To be able to get into the Top 40, you need a SRC-Receiver board and a CSR board addon.
Note that there are multiple types of boards with a matching CSR board.
CSR Manual
The manual for the CSR can be found here.
How to get in the list
  • The statistics per Set are calculated with a Bayesian algorithm, meaning that the more votes per song; the higher average score and a probability modifier to keep the scores fair.
  • You need to play at least 3 songs in a set to get a score and a chance to get in the top 40.
  • Songs that do not receive a single vote, will not get a score.
FAQ
The CSR said in chat that I've hit the chart, but I don't see myself listed
This could happen during busy hours, where many DJs are hitting the charts simultaneously. In that case your score could be trumped by another higher score within seconds.
I can't seem to get more than 3 songs in the chart
This is by design, we've limited the amount of songs you can get into the chart at a given time, to allow others to hit the chart as well and to prevent "playing" the system.
I don't get how this is calculated
Calculation is done with a modified Bayesian algorithm. The more votes you get on a song, the higher the score. But with a probability modifier on the at minimum 3 songs you need to enter the chart. It's fairly complicated and made this way to prevent "playing" the system.
